About Floyid Nicolas

Dr. Floyid Nicolas is an internationally trained agricultural engineer and Assistant Professor at Oregon State University, leading research at the intersection of precision irrigation, climate resilience, and water sustainability. With roots in rural Haiti and a career spanning the U.S. and Caribbean, he brings a global yet grounded perspective to solving some of agriculture’s most urgent water challenges.

His work focuses on improving irrigation efficiency, evapotranspiration modeling, and water quality, integrating tools like remote sensing, soil sensors, and artificial intelligence to support smarter, data-driven farming.

He holds a Ph.D. from UC Davis and a Master’s from the University of Florida, with field experience ranging from GIS-based planning in Haiti to nitrate leaching studies in California.
